Ballerina Wrap

The Ballerina Wrap is a classic and simple wrap cardigan worked in stockinette stitch back and forth from the top down using 1 strand of Merino + 1 strand of Soft Silk Mohair held together throughout. The length is cropped and intended to stop at the waist which makes this cardigan particularly suitable to be worn over full skirts or dresses without hiding the silhouette.

You start working the back neckband before you pick up additional stitches and shape the yoke with raglan increases. Work is divided at the underarms where sleeve stitches are placed on hold to be worked after the body has been completed. The body is continued back and forth with additional front shaping and then finished with a sideways hem, attached ties and an opening in one side for one of the ties. Sleeves are
worked top down in the round in stockinette stitch and finished with a folded edge. The length of the ties can easily be adjusted so that the wrap can be tied at the front or at the back.

Yarn: 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Merino (250 m [273 yd] / 50 g [1.8 oz]), fingering-weight yarn, 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3) balls + 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (225 m [246 yd] / 25 g [0.9 oz]), lace-weight yarn, 2 (2, 3, 3, 3, 4) balls. Needles: 3.5 mm / US4 and 4.5 mm / US7 circular and double-pointed needles, or in size to obtain gauge
Gauge (after blocking): 20 sts and 29 rows = 10 cm [4”] in st st with 4.5 / US7 needles
