Bean Sprout Romper is a loose-fitted romper with a beautiful charted bean sprout pattern on the body. The romper is worked from the bottom up using 1 strand of Merino, Cotton Merino or Pure Silk. Front and back crotch are worked separately back and forth before work is joined and continued in the round to the underarms. Sleeves are then worked in stockinette stitch in the round from the bottom up and joined with the body at the underarms. Afterwards, the yoke is shaped with raglan decreases and worked in stockinette stitch with a keyhole opening at back-neck. The romper is worked both in stockinette stitch and bean sprout stitch pattern, and you should measure and match your gauge for both. Gauge for the bean sprout stitch pattern is 22 sts and 30 rows per 10 cm [4”] and the stitch gauge is measured using Chart A and then counting stitches across either Rows 6, 7 or 8, or across Rows 14, 15 or 16. Gauge for the stockinette section is 28 sts and 38 rows per 10 cm [4”].
