Pearl Romper

Pearl Romper is a loose-fitted romper that is designed for the youngest. It has a neutral overall look and the edges and collar are worked in seed stitch (US) / moss stitch (UK). The romper is worked from the bottom up using 1 strand of either Merino, Cotton Merino or Pure Silk.
You start with the two crotch pieces and work the body up to the underarms. Sleeves are worked next and joined with the body on one needle before the yoke is shaped with raglan decreases. The collar is worked separately and joined with the yoke before the neck opening is finished with an i-cord edge. The romper has a keyhole opening at mid-back that is closed with a little button to make it easier to get the romper over the head.

Yarn: Knitting for Olive Merino, Cotton Merino or Pure Silk (250 m [273 yd] / 50 g [1.8 oz]), fingering-weight yarn, 3 (3, 3, 4) balls. Sample is in Merino in Dusty Aqua colorway
Needles: 2.5 mm / US1.5 and 3 mm / US2.5 circular and double-pointed needles, or in size to obtain gauge
Gauge (after blocking): 28 sts and 38 rows = 10 cm [4”] in st st with 3 mm / US2.5 needles
Notions: Stitch markers, stitch holders, extra cable or waste yarn, tapestry needle, crochet hook, 5 buttons (diameter: 10-12 mm [½”])
