Baby Bear Garter Bonnet is a beginner-friendly hat with cute little bear ears worked back and forth in garter stitch. You start working the ribbed face band before shaping the top crown, ears and the back crown with simple increases and decreases. Next, you work the ties and back neckband in garter stitch before finishing the bonnet by seaming up the ears and back crown.
This is a good project for some of your smaller quantities of leftover yarn. The bonnet is worked with 1 strand of Merino + 1 strand of either Soft Silk Mohair or Compatible Cashmere held together throughout. You will need approx. 12-15 (12-15, 17-20, 20-22, 23-24, 24-25) g Merino + either approx. 9 (9-10, 10-11, 12-13, 12-13, 13-14) g Soft Silk Mohair or approx. 11 (12-13, 13-14, 14-16, 14-16, 16-17) g Compatible Cashmere.
