Naturally soft Heavy Merino

Made with animals in mind

For ethical knitwear

Our heavy merino is deliciously warm, responsibly and ethically sourced

Our Heavy Merino is made of 100 % traceable, non-mulesed Merino wool. While Merino wool is one of the softest types of wool, our Heavy Merino is a bit more rustic and less soft than our thin Merino. The reason being is the wool is taken further from the sheep’s skin. Our Heavy Merino is super strong, long-lasting and wears really well. It’s great for sweaters and can be combined with our Soft Silk Mohair for extra softness and fluffiness. Our Heavy Merino is spun in a way to minimize peeling.

100 % non-mulesed merino wool, Oeko-Tex Standard 100
4,5 mm
125m | worsted weight
18 sts and 30 rows = 10 cm
Hand-wash in cool water, dry flat

Meet Our ethical yarn

Our Heavy Merino is made of traceable, mulesing free wool. The traceability ensures that we know which farms the wool comes from, and thereby can ensure that the animals are well taken care off and the farmers well treated and have good working conditions.

The merino wool in our Heavy Merino is the only wool we use that is not RWS certified, as it is a different type of merino wool, that we haven’t been able to find certified yet. This does not mean that the animals and farmers are not treated respectfully. It only means, that no farms with this type of sheep have the certification yet.
